Shooting The Moon
Born on August 27 2010, by Tinagroo Winchester (The Ranch Abbey Top Gun-Gavins Rampling) out of Easterly (Browns Chan Way-Just Nice), Shooting the Moon is a bay colt.
We have decided to retain him for future use over some of our mares. A full brother to Cunnamore Calibre, who we bought as an unbroken 2yo filly, we believe he will prove to be a good sire for us. He is in the early stages of training and is proving to be a quite pleasant boy to work with.
He is related, through his grand dam, Just Nice, to Olympic eventer Ringwould Jaguar, and his sire’s line traces back to Abbey.
His mother, Easterly, performed well in the show ring. Wins included the Show Series led class in the Show Series 4 Final WA in 2003, and the led mare 5 years and over 15hh and under at the WA Championships in 2004. While her main role in the enterprise is that of a broodmare, in between foals she has done lots of stock work, attended rallies at the Munglinup Pony Club, competed in the show jumping at the Esperance show, and done some dressage and hacking, all with a 10 year old rider on board.
Shooting the Moon’s full sister, Calibre, is already proving to be a versatile horse, competing in dressage, hacking, in-hand events at local shows and doing stock work at home.
